Job Costing means many different things to each client that we visit and so we have included two different job costing solutions within the Auto Time Premium package :

•  Cost Centres

•  Job Costing

The Cost Centre option simply allocates employees time to a specified cost centre within your company (ie Factory One, Factory Two etc) and employees can switch themselves between cost centres as they move around your works during the day - Cost Centres could also be used to cost a person on a particular machine for instance.

The Job Costing option takes Cost Centres a step further, in its simplest form each employee would go to a clock when they are ready to start a particular job. They would enter the job number when prompted and then “swipe” their card, at this point their time is being costed against that job code.

You have the option to ask them to “swipe off” the job and then re-enter their next job (this measures “down time” or unproductive time) or they can simply “swipe” onto their new job and a start on a new job will automatically enter a stop time for the old job.

To take job costing further you also have an option for employees to enter an “Operation” or component part of a job and to “swipe” onto that operation thus allowing you to cost production to minute detail, you can enter up to 99 operations per job.

And further, when an employee has finished a job and assuming that he was manufacturing measurable parts, then he can enter the quantity made when he “swipes off”.

All of this data is collected by the Auto Time Premium software and calculated periodically (or constantly via the Task Scheduler), and combined with the separate attendance clockings to produce a full picture of what each employee has actually done during their working day.

A full range of reports looking at the production from an employee or from a job perspective are available as standard and will analyse any range of dates.

Auto Time Job Costing is included as part of the Auto Time Premium suite and is installed at the same time as the attendance recording software.

There is no additional cost for the job costing module unless you require us to carry out any set-up work or tuition in the use of the module, in which case our hourly technician charges would apply.
